Heirloom Apples roundtable - Sept 17

For the Year of the Heirloom Apple, The National Agricultural Library is hosting a free event - Celebrating America's Unique Apple Diversity: A Roundtable Discussion Featuring Some of America's Leading Apple Experts.

On Friday, Sept. 17 from 1:30-3:30, five apple growers (Nick Botner, OR, Tom Burford, VA, John Bunker, ME, Dan Bussey, WI, and Lee Calhoun, NC) will discuss "...their perspectives on America's fading apple diversity and what steps we can take to preserve it."

The National Agricultural Library, which has many works of interest to culinary historians, is located just off the DC Beltway at 10301 Baltimore Ave., Beltsville, MD 20705. RSVP to NAL-Events@ars.usda.gov [subject line: Apple Roundtable].
